At a meeting by Pam Byrnes on the situation--financial and otherwise--in MIchigan, I wonder if calling a Constitutional Conventions is just a way of avoiding dealing with the current problems?
I've been strongly i favor of taking care of our Great Lakes--which are even more important that the auto industry. But after hearing Pam's (and a financial expert from Lansing) explain the current financial mess in our state, I decided that the Lakes may have to wait a little longer.
The State term limits are stupid, for sure. And,it may take a CC to straighten that out. But it seems that a CC will take several years to come up with a new constitution--can we wait?
I asked Pam: "How bad does it have to get before those folks in the legislature do something?" She said, "That is the question."
