Americans say they hold those who served in uniform in high honor, especially on holidays like Veterans Day, which is this Sunday. But reality suggests something else. A new study shows that one out of every four homeless people in the nation once wore this nation’s uniform. And in Michigan, the percentage may be even higher. Tobi Geibig is executive director of the Detroit-based Michigan Veterans’ Foundation. It tries to assist veterans in trouble. Michigan Radio’s Jack Lessenberry spoke with him.
