You’ve seen the movie. The prisoner is on death row, awaiting execution. When, suddenly, the call comes - not from the governor but from the DNA lab. The prisoner has been cleared, just in time. Well, there’s no death row in Michigan. But, bills now before the legislature would increase the number of convicted felons who could request that DNA evidence be tested. Donna McKneelen is co-director of Cooley Law School’s innocence project. Michigan Radio’s Jack Lessenberry spoke with her.
