Over the next 3 weeks the University of Michigan’s Arts on Earth initiative is exploring how the arts affect war -- and how the arts themselves are affected by war and state-sponsored oppression. The program includes performances and presentations for the next two nights that show art created in response to war. Janie Paul is a professor of art and social work at the University of Michigan. Michigan Radio’s Jack Lessenberry spoke with her about some of the areas where arts and political conflict intersect
