When we celebrate the Fourth of July and our victory in the War of Independence, we normally think of Lexington and Concord, not Forts St. Joseph and Fort Michilimackinac. Yet there was some action here in what was then the far west – and Michigan figured in to the eventual peace settlement. Michigan Radio’s Jack Lessenberry spoke with Revolutionary War Historian David Armour. He was a former deputy director of Mackinac State Historic Parks.
