Interview: George Weeks - 2/2/06

When George Weeks first started covering politics in Lansing, many of today’s lawmakers, including the governor, hadn’t yet been born. Weeks has seen the world of Michigan politics and government for a longer period of time than just about anyone. He covered the lawmakers in both Lansing and in Washington for UPI and later as a columnist for the Detroit News. In between, he worked for Governor William Milliken as a press secretary and top aide. This spring, he plans to retire from daily journalism and devote himself to writing books. Michigan Radio’s Jack Lessenberry spoke with George Weeks.
